Student In The Spotlight
Dylan Klug - Age 9.
Dylan is a fourth grader at Assumption School in Morristown and has been taking private lessons with Chelsea for about a year. She has been singing since she learned how to talk and performing has been her passion ever since. When she was three, her mother briefly lost sight of her at the pool at their Disney World hotel. When she found her, Dylan was belting out "Let It Go" with the poolside DJ while still in her floaties. She has performed in over a dozen shows in New Jersey and in New York, starring as Madeline in Madeline's Christmas, Little Elsa in Frozen, Jr., and Bella in A Little Princess. In February 2020, she was the youngest individual finalist in Morristown Onstage, a local talent show where she sang Defying Gravity in front of a packed house at the Mayo Performing Arts Center. Dylan has continued to take virtual lessons throughout the shutdown and Chelsea has helped her prepare for remote auditions. She landed a solo with "Naughty" from Matilda at the Rhino Theater's Ode to Broadway open-air cabaret in October, and will be performing as Lavender in a spring 2021 full production of Matilda, Jr. in Bridgewater, NJ. Dylan also loves to play the piano, and her quarantine hobby has been learning the piano accompaniments to her favorite Hamilton songs from YouTube.
